lAST cALL

the last call of the flash editting ...
i can feel the 'gan jiong' feel at steve place ...
it was the day before presentation ,
but most of the group still try to make their flash more good ...
develop until the end ...

and from monday on , we started the link part ,
and we occur some problem which is can't on the file at window ...
and another was some error appear when we doing the editing part ...
it was damn scary of cant finish on the flash ...
asking classmate during the midnite wat is happening to our flash ...
travel from one house to another hostel during the late midnite ...
and i had decided to use another way to link the whole website ...
luckily we got our good classmate ..
teaching us how to link easily ...
phew ...
and tuesday late midnite ...
i started to link the file one by one again ... until morning ...
slept only 2hours ... and continue the work again ...
wednesday started to put in the sound effects ...
steve took over the sound effects part and thankx to shireen too ...
by selecting the best sound , and cut it properly and edit it ...
thank thankx ...
whilst i am doing some easy work like mounting , achive .. and etc ...

against the file occur some error again ...
we juz don't know wat happen to it ...
sambil doing edditing sambil we complaining the flash ...
i would say something wrong to the flash ...
so the last minutes of thursday late midnite we still at linking stage ...
but we already done mood board , site map , and also the archive and powerpoint ...
juz some minor linking occur problems ...
and two days ... i only slept 2and half hours ...
i break my record again ... yuhoooo ...

but i still can manage it by using the fast way to link it again ...
but i can feel the midnite atmosphere is very very very very very rush ...
imagine the nite before presentation ...
others group and ours still nt sleeping at 6am ...
everyone face are circle with an eyes bags ...
eyes watery and red ... eyes nearly wanna close ,
but force it with some toking , and also joking ...
it is damn rushing i would say ...
okie ...

fINAL cHANGING

from monday tutorial on ...
we know the final changing is quite challenge ...
we are lacking on the navigation part , and interactive part ...
so which mean ... i cant go home again ...
muz overnite steve place again ...
from saturday on i overnite until the end of the project ...
is ok la ... sacrifice make works better ... huhu ...

few nites we are working the same thg ,
linking , button , linking , button ...
its very difficult ... really difficult ...

during the nite , i can see some of the other group staying steve house doin flash too ...
and the very common thg is the one who live far would overnite at sri mawar ...
the parking slot is full with ours car with KBU sticker ...
since they hav not enough tilam for sleeping ,
so we take shift for sleeping ...
feel like we are doing a big big group project ...
sharing ideas .. sharing chit chat ...
sharing jokes ... sharing tilam ...
sharing shirt ... sharing sound effects ...
sharing this and tht ... and etc ...

feel warm with business ...
haha ... the living room full with about 6-7 laptops working on the flash ...
the environment ...
look like cyber cafe ...
but doing flash ... hoho ...
i would say is a very tension + busy days we are passing ...
anyway ... i am happy sharing all my times with my members ,
and the others group ...
its really a precious memory ... working together ...

previous post mention that coming back on saturday and catch up work again ...
coming back to do flash part ...
since both members steve and shireen had explore for the flash linking and button ...
so they know how it function ...
and i started with the linking part ...
its damn hard to link all tgether ...
the keyframes , the action ...
once insert the wrong one ...
it would nt work actually ...
and now i started to appreciate websites ... haha ..
because i knew it is very difficult to built a good one ...

okie ... overnite at steve place from saturday until dunno which day ...
for rushing the flash linking part to show on monday extra tutorial ...
i would say the nite is long but we already make it short ,
because the link part takes us few hours to completes ...

2nD lAST tUTORIAL

being away for operation about 2dyas ...
and leaving works to another 2members ...
i am so happy and appreciate the hard work of you both ... =)
the homepage and intro page had done by them ...
and practicing on the link , and button part ...
i noe its too late to practice a week before presentation ...
but at least we practice before we start rite?

i had received a phone call at hospital ...
after they both went tutorial ...
and knowing that the composition part is lacking ...
and somehow we muz change some of the visuals forming ...
juz some minor problem so far ...

coming back on saturday to catch up the work again ...
and my responsible to do flash , and also start the linking part ...

tENSION wEEK

finally, my line was pretty good today,
and i can do my updates on the blog , reporting the progress and etc ...

currently , we are progressing on our perfect 10 again ...
since that day after tutorial ,
we think , and think again ..
we noe what is the problem we are facing ...
during this week , we are rushing ...
due to the dessertation things , go-green projects, and etc...
we had done re-composition , re-crop, re-save and etc during this week ...
the re-composition part, re-crop, and re-photoshop part is done by steve and shireen ...
and my job is to put the composition into the flash ...
i would say the flash ... is pretty complex ...
but anyhow, i manage to fall in love, and also love her now ...
the 1st few composition really take me so so so so many times ...
but after it all practice , i manage to get familiar with it ,
and after done everything , will show and ask for opinion from my members ...
and develop again until both of us satisfied with it ...

seeing every group was busying on the flash part ...
and i can feel the busy atmosphere again at studio ...
most of us stay late until the college close ...
how good if the college will not close and let design student to work whole day ... =D
pretty tension with this work , but still can manage to go throught larh...

we are facing another problem which other's group don hav ...
that was wed 18/2 i would go for operation (nose)
so ... our group is rushing for the flash part and also composition part,
to make sure that we had enuf things for thursday tutorial ...
but i am happy that , my group members do not complain anythg due to the rushing ...
and we manage to finish the perfect 10 before wednesday ...
and wednesday on , shireen and steve will work on others stuff ...
i will leaving for 2days , i will coming bec for battle again on friday ...
and we can start our final linking part liao ... =)

2nD wEEK wORKING hOLIDAY

Wednesday

after our so called 2week chinese new year break ,
we gather again as a group to discuss on the content part ,
and also gather all the pics and makes the "Perfect 10"
and we got conclude the perfect 10 in the categories of :

• business
• friendship
• creative
• advance
• lost
• abandon
• funny
• multipurpose
• dirty
• warn-out

and now is the time to link these categories again to the places in Kl
since we are doing the field guide as a designer's collection journal ...
each time when the designer stopped at each places in Kl ,
pictures taken on the interactive between water meter and the environment ...

and another stepped on today was ,
we had roughly done our composition of the visuals ...

having another discussion again on the visuals part ...
and discussing on the composition ,
the background colors texture and so on ...
and the "texture master" had done quite many of the try out ...
and we had makeup our mind on which to choose ...

comes to the illustration part ,
photo montage had been tried by "typo master" and me ... =)
and overall we got what we want ,
and the one both three of us satisfied ...
as a conclusion ,
we had to collect as much photos as we can ,
and the visuals still depends more on the editing part at photoshop ...

since we got all the visuals collecting done ...
so we started on the photo editing part at photoshop ...
thats is an imposible things i would like to say is ...
edit photo is not that easy ...
especially the photo montage things ...
because it need alot of consideration and also the tried out of the effects ...

pity of my group members ,
doing the photo edit for so many hours ...
due to some appointment with the family members ,
i leave the work for the members to continue on ...
and i had made them tiring ... haiz ...

eXPERIMENT

mentioned from the previous post ...
me and all my members had different type of job to work during holidays ...
and my part was the illustration and visual collecting part ...
and here's i done some experiment on the style of the visuals ...
since our idea of making the field guide is towards a journal of an artist ...
so three of us were worked on this (the style) ...
to make a consistent style for the whole field guide ...

1st of all, i had used few days on trying and learning on the water color from the master ...
since this is the 1st time i tried on water color as the media ...
at 1st , i am not so used with the water color and also the water control ...
and the master behind scold me thousand and thousand times during the practicing ...
but ... as quoted "no pain , no gain"
finally i can draw something like that ...
hoho ... happy =)
i quite satisfied with my practicing and also i appreciate the master who teaching me ...
thankx anyway for FOC teaching ...
and heres are the tried out and practicing pieces ...


it doesn't look nice ...
but i am satisfied with the process of learning ...
and i guess , i learn something ...

look real but not real .. haha ...

after that add on some water colours onto it ...


and comes to using technical pens drawing ...
it looks too thin ..
and another one was playing more on the water mark ...

personally i quite like the last one ...
it feels something natural, something very stylish ...


and further more comes to the more daring tried out ...
by using water color straight onto the paper ...
then only used art line to touch up on the lines ...

went over to kepong (part of KL) to take some photos before the holidays start ...
since the chosen water meter are every where ...
and since everyone went to Petaling street , Timesquare , Pavilion and etc ...
i was thinking to go other than the places ...
so i made decision on going to Kepong ...
it is part of kl too ...

okie ...
since we got clearer tutorial and also discussion with the members ...
so ... our ideas had became more solid on water meter ...
and since we can't get different type of water meter ,
but the problem had overcome by we decide to get different narration of characteristic , and emotion which portray the interaction between the surrounding people to water meter ...
and these emotion or so called interaction between it could represent the KL city life ...

during that time ... i really feel i wanna laugh like gorilla ...

mY liTTLE fEELING

herm ... from the beginning post until now ...
was juz report report and report ...
but this post i would like to express my feeling ...
not worry ... that's a good feeling for everyone ...
dun "gan jiong"

i would like to say i am happy with my group ...
because i realize that some of the other group had the conflict between each other during the dicussion or the ideas part ...
but i am glad that ours group is not ...
and i realize that our art sense somehow got different ,
but anyway ,
everyone of us still manage to handle it and also combine the idea ...
or else we would find another solution for the lacking part ...

overall i would say i am happy working with the peoples in my group ...
and hopes everything go well after chinese new year lah ...
because the difficult part will coming soon ,
which is the software part ...
once again wish you all the best on projects stuffs ...
but not to forget to read the dissertation ...
and specially wish the members HAppy chinese new year ...
and enjoy the working holiday as well =)

due to the chinese new year break ,
we force to have another discussion again b4 we go for the break ...

firstly, although we had done the concepts , moods , and also layout part ...
but we had missed out our flow chart ...
so we did it after we had our tutorial ...
by the way ...
we met a difficulties becoz of members balik kampung ...
so we planned the work individually ,
so that when we came back ,
we can combine against the work and start flash ...

visual style was everyone's work ,
because we feel that the visual part we need to strengthen again ...
then typography and content part will leave to shireen ,
since her english is good ...

we planned to leave for steve ...
because he was media master ... keke
and last but not least , my job was to collect the photos ...
as a prove as our contents part and also the illustration part ...

and finally we arrange the work probably ,
and leave for chinese new year ...

we discuss on some mood , concepts and also the visual style and etc ...
and we got out the answer of everything ...
and planned to further develop again onto the layout of the web page , the visual style , and more solid messages behind to support the idea ...

finally ...
the essay had hand in ... phewww ...
so , me and the members have the very short discussion ...
about the project after hand in essay ...

and got some rough idea on how to further develop again ...
and we planned to find more related visuals ,
by sketching and doodling it ...
since our classes are pack from Monday to Wednesday,
and Thursday we have tutorial session ...
so we don't have time enough to go outing ...
and we decided to used sketching first ,
and later on will aims to go outing ...
not only that ...
sketching could help us in developing visual style though ...
so ... its a 2+1 develop ... hehe ... =)

besides , also
discuss on others supporting visuals to support the ideas ...
of course the one can't left was the concept , mood and also the messages that we wanted to send to ...
the next discussion will held on Tuesday which is tomorrow 9am at studio ... =)

rANDOM eXPLORATION sOFTWARE

from the previous post ,
i mention about the exploration to the software ...
it is to enhance the knowledge and also to train and try out the software usage.
finally i got catch up little basics from the online tutorial ...
and tried with my own with this random images ...

but then realize actually i noe to do it already ...
so adding another few frame behind to let him jump ...

but then realize the jumping stick man can be put in together ...

i found actually not very difficult to catch up with the software ...
i trusted that practicing can improve the skills ...
so ... during free time ,
i would practicing this , and at the same time ...
of coz muz came out with the ideas ...

between , i had planned a schedule for my group ,
purpose is to make sure our works is on the right track ...
because i realise that the time was really pack ,
and we must concern about our time management ...

It is friday nite ..
i guess it was a working weekend though ...
besides resting ,
- i have to catch up with the Flash software by viewing the online tutorial ...
- and practice it before we start the editing stage ...
- besides , need to have a well plan time management for my group to arrange the working schedule ...
- also try out with some experiments ...
- final checking on the final essay ... and make sure it is ok ...

since this is the first time to use Flash in the project ...
i am kind a worry the editing stage ...
and i admit that i am computer idiot ...
thats why needed to catch up earlier than others ...
